Western Area Power Administration has announced that its Colorado River Storage Project and Rocky Mountain region will pursue final negotiations toward full membership in the Southwest Power Pool Regional Transmission Organization.

The Bureau of Reclamation and Western Area Power Administration announced today that Deputy Regional Director Michelle Williams will transition to Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for WAPA’s Sierra Nevada region as of November 6.

Christopher Lawrence​ has been named Western Area Power Administration’s new Chief of Staff. Lawrence officially assumed the position July 16. Lawrence has served as the acting chief of staff for WAPA Administrator and Chief Executive Officer Tracey A. LeBeau since early 2023.
