Definitization of Construction Change Orders
Consistent with the policy of the Department of Energy, WAPA works to ensure change orders will be definitized within 180 days after issuance of an unpriced change order or before completion of 40 percent of the work to be performed, whichever occurs first. WAPA contracting officers negotiate and modify construction contracts bilaterally to the maximum extent possible. WAPA procedures include a general procurement acquisition lead time (PALT) of 15-45 calendar days for modifications.
