About WAPA

Western Area Power Administration markets and transmits Federally produced hydroelectric power to utilities in a 15-state area of the central and Western United States.

Employees at the Western Area Power Administration keep electricity moving through the interconnected transmission system, also known as our power grid, to ultimately provide electricity to your town, home or business.

Around the clock, WAPA employees conduct power sales, transmission operations, engineering services and power system maintenance from 51 duty stations located across our service area.
