Pacific Alternating Current Intertie (PACI) Rate Case process update

Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) Sierra Nevada (SN) Region plans to file 5-year formula rates under Rate Order No. WAPA-211 for the Pacific Alternating Current Intertie Point-to-Point Transmission Service.

WAPA-SN is conducting a major rate process from September 2024 through January 2026, to tentatively set rates into effect October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2030.

WAPA-SN started the process with two informal customer meetings in October 2024 and November 2024. During the informal process, customers had the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments and feedback that will be taken into consideration before the rates are finalized. After completing the informal process, WAPA-SN will start the formal process by publishing a notice of Proposed Rate Adjustment in the Federal Register and allow for a 90-day comment period.
