EMS Program

WAPA’s Environmental Management System (EMS) establishes processes and procedures for managing our environmental program. WAPA’s EMS Program is in the process of being refreshed to comply with all applicable Federal requirements and the International Standards for Environmental Management Systems described by ISO 14001:2015.

International Standard Methodology

The International Standard methodology describes what will be accomplished, how and by whom. The Plan-Do-Check-Act model also provides for benchmarking and process improvement:

Plan: Establish the objectives and processes necessary to deliver results following the organization’s environmental policy.

Do: Implement the processes.

Check: Monitor and measure processes against environmental policy, objectives and targets, legal and other requirements, and report the results.

Act: Take actions to continually improve the performance of the environmental management system.
