Scott Lund serves as WAPA’s Senior Vice President and Desert Southwest Regional Manager. He was selected for this position in July 2025 and has more than 20 years of experience with WAPA and the electric utility industry.

Lund leads more than 350 employees and contractors who market and deliver reliable, cost-based federal hydroelectric power and transmission services to municipalities, electric cooperatives, federal and state agencies, irrigation districts and Native American tribes in Arizona, southern California and southern Nevada. The Desert Southwest region operates more than 65 substations and nearly 2,400 miles of high-voltage transmission lines and markets power generated at Bureau of Reclamation dams along the Colorado River, including Hoover, Parker and Davis dams.

During his career at WAPA, Lund has supported major transmission and infrastructure initiatives and worked closely with customers and industry partners to strengthen the regional grid. In his previous role as Strategic Utility Restructuring Advisor for Desert Southwest, he was honored with the Department of Energy Secretary’s Excellence Award – the department’s highest recognition for employee achievement – for expanding transmission infrastructure in the West, leading to approximately 3,000 megawatts of additional transmission capacity and generating substantial revenues.

Lund is also a recipient of WAPA’s Exceptional Service Award presented each year by the Administrator and CEO. He earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Arizona State University and is a long-time Arizona resident.
