FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Feb. 18, 2021
LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Southwest Power Pool has announced that its Eastern Interconnection footprint is no longer under an energy emergency alert. However, SPP’s entire balancing authority area will remain in conservative operations for the next two days due to continuing high loads and other implications of severe cold weather. Western Area Power Administration would like to thank our impacted customers in the Upper Great Plains region for their tremendous efforts to maintain the integrity of the grid.
