process status
The Western Area Power Administration Rocky Mountain and Upper Great Plains Regions Rate Order Nos. WAPA-179 and WAPA-180 consecutively, were confirmed and approved by the Deputy Secretary of Energy on November 30, 2017. Signature of the Rate Order places Firm Electric
Service and Sale of Surplus Products formula rates, set forth in the LAP Rate
Schedules L‑F11 and L-M2, into effect beginning January 1, 2018, through December 31,
2022, or until superseded. WAPA lowered the overall LAP and P-S--ED rates by rebalancing the charge components. The Base components were updated to represent present costs and the
Drought Adder components were adjusted
to zero, as the drought costs are projected to be fully repaid in 2018. See below to review the Notice, Rate Order, and rate schedules for details pertaining to the rates.
