On Veterans Day 2024, WAPA honors those who have served

On Veterans Day, we unite to honor the courage, dedication and sacrifices of all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Today, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the veterans, and there are many, within our own WAPA family. Your commitment to service, both in uniform and in your work at WAPA, is a profound testament to your dedication to our country and communities.

Veterans Day occurs during Native American Heritage Month, making this time particularly significant. Native Americans have a long and proud tradition of military service, enlisting in the U.S. Armed Forces at higher rates than any other demographic. We honor and recognize Native veterans as an integral part of the broader legacy of service that we celebrate this month.

We are thankful for the efforts of our Veterans Employee Resource Group, which provides support, camaraderie and resources to WAPA’s veteran employees. This group enhances our community by creating a space for connection and support as veterans continue to serve in new ways at WAPA.

As we honor Veterans Day, remember the commitment of those who serve and continue to give back to their communities. Thank you to our veterans for your service, the many sacrifices you and your families have made, and the impact you bring to our work every day.
