FOLSOM, Calif. — Six high schools will participate in a science and math competition Feb. 27 for the opportunity to represent northern California at the Department of Energy National Science Bowl this spring.

The 29th annual Sacramento Regional High School Science Bowl, hosted by Western Area Power Administration, will test students’ knowledge of biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy and math in a fast-paced quiz format that requires students to answer questions in as little as five seconds. Each team is made up of four students, a student alternate and a teacher who serves as an advisor and coach.

2021’s Sacramento Regional High School Science Bowl will see 12 teams participating from six schools:

  • Davis Senior High
  • ​Folsom High
  • Laguna Creek High
  • Mira Loma High
  • ​Rio Americano High
  • Vista Del Lago High
