When did you start working with WAPA? I started at WAPA on Nov. 1, 2015
What is the most interesting thing you have worked on with WAPA? Since I am working in Procurement, I meet very interesting people from many departments, including engineers, program managers, biologists, archeologists, maintenance crews and linemen. All of us have different parts of WAPA's Mission under a different set of skills and expertise! I feel very excited about every new project as all of us to work together as a team.
What do you wish people understood about your job and the work you do? Time limitations are a critical part of Procurement. I would like for people to understand that preplanning is very important to all necessary purchases. We understand that sometimes there are many critical or urgent purchases; however, not all circumstances are critical. Preplanning along with documentation, that is what I would like people to understand.
Tell us something about yourself we wouldn't find on your resume. I am very outgoing, speak a few languages, ride motorcycles and volunteer for American veteran associations.
How is what you do tied to WAPA's mission? Since I oversee government purchase card program over DSW, I would like for staff to come and ask questions instead of making assumptions. I am trying to help our GPC program with WAPA's mission to keep the lights on. Let's work together as a team!
