When did you start working with WAPA? I started working at WAPA in June 2013.
What is the most interesting thing you have worked on at WAPA? Resources and prescheduling business processes and applications enhancements. They provide opportunities to collaborate internally, with crossfunctional and interagency groups, customers and their schedulers.
What do you wish people understood about your job and the work you do? What we do affects our customers' bottom line, so we focus on customer service. A sense of accountability is important and we need to communicate with them to understand their needs as we face rapid changes in the energy industry and organized markets. We need foresight to be able to adapt our business processes and be resourceful to address issues.
Tell us something about yourself we wouldn't find on your resume. I have climbed 90-foot wood poles. This is part of a lineman training course in which I learned about line construction and maintenance. I also have a green belt in Kyokushin.
How is what you do tied to WAPA's mission? We represent the front office of SN's power marketing function. Our collaborative processes help us manage power supply for our customers' demand, including transmission arrangements to deliver power. I work with the team to improve the accuracy of load forecasts, optimize the allocation of base resource and energy procurement, achieve efficiencies in our scheduling coordinator functions and coordinate with customers and external entities. We perform all of this with the goal of providing value-added services.
