When did you start working with WAPA? I started working with WAPA March 21, 2016.

What is the most interesting thing you have worked on at WAPA? When I first started at WAPA I had a lot of free time on my hands and was tasked with scanning and archiving documents dating back to 2003. Working on that for months helps you appreciate the importance of staying up to date on work and technology. The ability to search for an e-file instead of searching for/through paper files is simpler, efficient and cleaner.

What do you wish people understood about your job and the work you do? My main role is to work on AP Intra-Governmental Payment and Collections. Every AP IPAC comes through my desk, and it takes great effort from so many people, in many departments at WAPA as well as vendors, to make sure these are processed efficiently and in a timely manner. I manage the AP Supplier and AR Customer tables as well. Having a lead and supervisor that allow me the opportunity to learn new things to increase my knowledge and experience level, as well as allow me to make changes for more efficient workflow, is great!

Tell us something about yourself we wouldn't find on your resume. I am a proud mom of three amazing children. Two are in college and one is about to join the army. Also, I love taking my jeep off-roading.

How is what you do tied to WAPA's mission? The teamwork in Fiscal Ops is exceptional. While we work independently, we also work together to ensure we are processing and completing our tasks on or before they are due. With the amount of payments we process, not having to pay late fees is something we strive to attain. The cost savings of that, alone, is great. Helping to make the workflow more efficient saves time as well as provides time to learn more and help each other out. We work hard to accomplish our team and personal goals. Working with people that have positive attitudes results in a better workday and environment.
