When did you start working with WAPA? I started working with WAPA on April 5, 1992.
What is the most interesting thing you have worked on at WAPA? Probably the most challenging and exciting at the same time was Hurricane Sandy. As far as interesting goes, I suppose working on Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers standards for the past 20 years. Working on standards let you keep your thumb on the industry and keep aware of what others are doing to deal with common problems as they arise.
What do you wish people understood about your job and the work you do? I tell people all the time I'm lucky to have the best job at WAPA. Between jobs and representing WAPA at IEEE and the Electric Power Research Institute and all the other activities like the Craft Leadership Development Program steering committee, my life is busy and busy is good.
Tell us something about yourself we wouldn't find on your resume. I grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and had hair down to my shoulders. Looking at me now most people wouldn't guess that.
How is what you do tied to WAPA's mission? Just about everything I do helps deliver safe, reliable power.
