LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Western Area Power Administration will hold informal learning sessions Sept. 23 and 24 to give an overview of the anticipated draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Estes-to-Flatiron Transmission Line Rebuild Project.
The draft EIS will be released by Sept. 19.
Those interested in participating in the informal sessions can drop by anytime to learn about steps and goals of the Draft EIS comment period, including how to comment on the document. WAPA representatives will be available to familiarize participants with the outline of the document and discuss questions individuals have about the National Environmental Policy Act, or NEPA, process.
The schedule for the learning sessions is:
- Tuesday, September 23, Noon-7 p.m.
- Estes Park Museum, 200 Fourth Street, Estes Park
- Wednesday, Sept. 24, Noon-7 p.m.
- Bison Visitor Center, 1800 S. County Road 31, Loveland
WAPA, in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, will announce the dates and times of the NEPA open houses and public hearings when the draft EIS is released.
