The first All-Employee Meeting of 2020 was held Jan. 15 at Headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado, with the presenters discussing a wide range of topics.

Contract Specialist Jeannine Veitz hosted the event. She had only recently passed the one-year mark of WAPA service and spoke briefly about her experience as a new employee.

Administrator and CEO Mark A. Gabriel updated attendees on the state of WAPA, discussed the importance of having a strategy and spoke about the theme for 2020: Engaging in a World of Change.

Vice President of Engineering and Design Dan Hamai spoke about engineering and design. Vegetation and Access Road Specialist Ricardo Velarde discussed how WAPA’s proactive vegetation management better prepares the organization to prevent and respond to wildfires.

Throughout the event, Veitz turned the spotlight on a number of projects across WAPA’s footprint that represented significant improvements or cost savings.
