WAPA held its All-Employee Meeting June 6 at Headquarters in Lakewood, Colorado. Employees throughout the organization’s 15-state footprint joined the meeting in person, over the phone and via video teleconference.

Information Technology Specialist Marc Robbins hosted the event, and Administrator and CEO Mark A. Gabriel spoke about a range of topics, including strategic planning, market constructs and inclusion and diversity. He also presented a special service award to Electrical Engineer Max Morse, who reached 50 years of service between WAPA and the Bureau of Reclamation. Gabriel then announced this year’s winners of the Exceptional Service Award.

In addition, he screened a video by Public Affairs Specialist Travis Weger spotlighting several dozen employees who have received awards or otherwise been recognized for their efforts and hard work in the preceding several months.

Gabriel was followed by Security and Emergency Management Director Bruce Watson and Emergency Management Specialist Tiffani DeFore, who spoke about the upcoming reorganization of the Office of Security and Emergency Management.

Employees also heard from Vice President of Information Technology – Cyber Security Jim Ball, who presented a cybersecurity update, and Public Utilities Specialist Kirsten McClure, who spoke about WAPA’s fiber optic partnerships.
