Tina Ko is executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Western Area Power Administration.
As the WAPA Executive VP, Ko leads and oversees a broad scope of day-to-day operations and spearheads strategic enterprise initiatives, including policies and processes related to engineering and design, energy marketing and markets, transmission asset management and planning, aviation, technical training, safety, security and related matters. She reports to Tracey LeBeau, Administrator and CEO.
Ko came to WAPA as a senior executive leader seasoned in enterprise management, with prior experience as a deputy COO and a breadth of know-how across core federal and utility business functions. She brings 22 years of experience from Bonneville Power Administration across generation, transmission and corporate services where she pioneered new programs, led customer negotiations and increased employee engagement.
Ko earned a Master of Business Administration in finance and a bachelor’s in economics from Willamette University.
WAPA markets and delivers low-cost federal hydropower from 57 hydroelectric plants to nearly 700 wholesale customers across its 15-state, 1.4 million-square-mile footprint.
