Scoping*

Environmental Impact
Statement
(EIS)
being
prepared
by

Power
Administration’s
(Western's) Sierra
Nevada

by
obtaining
your
comments

issues,
and
questions
on
the proposed action.
The
scope,
or
significant
issues
that
will
be
addressed
in
the
EIS,
are
identified
through
comments
from

affected
Native
American

proponent
of
the
action,

persons.
What
is
Scoping?
Scoping is an early and open public
process for determining the scope of the EIS
and
for
identifying
significant
environmental
issues
related
to
the
proposed
action.
Significant
issues
are
identified
through
comments
from
the
public, federal,
state,
and
local
government
agencies,
and
other
interested
parties.
Scoping
is
not
a
forum
to
discuss
the
pros
or
cons
of
the
Sacramento
Area
Voltage
Support EIS
project,
but
rather
an
opportunity
to
raise
issues
pertinent
to
the
scope
of
the
environmental
analyses.
