The Western Area Power Administration-Sacramento Area Office (Western) has hosted public meetings for the purpose of notifying the general public and federal, state, local and tribal agencies about the upcoming Sacramento Area Voltage Support Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) related to the transmission of federal power. The purpose of the meetings was to identify public and agency concerns, and alternatives to be considered in the EIS.
During the period of September 12, 2000 through September 21, 2000, Western's Sierra Nevada Region (SNR) office conducted a series of four scoping meetings in Lodi, Marysville, and Folsom, California. Public scoping comments were collected from August 8, 2000 through October 2, 2000. In addition, Western held two public workshops (March and September 2001) to address public comments on the selection of alternatives under consideration.
