How to Become Involved

Western's Public Involvement Program

The Western Area Power Administration-Sacramento Area Office (Western) has hosted public meetings for the purpose of notifying the general public and federal, state, local and tribal agencies about the upcoming Sacramento Area Voltage Support Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) related to the transmission of federal power. The purpose of the meetings was to identify public and agency concerns, and alternatives to be considered in the EIS.

The formal EIS Scoping Period ended on October 2, 2000. Additional meetings were held during preparation of the EIS. Public hearings were scheduled to solicit comments after publication of the Draft EIS. For more information on the hearings, please follow this link to the public hearings page.
