Western recognizes Salt Lake City resident for exceptional service
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Salt Lake City resident Roberta Sweeney will receive Western Area Power Administration's highest honor at a ceremony June 7 at Western's Colorado River Storage Project Management Center. Western's Administrator Mike Hacskaylo will present Sweeney with Western's Exceptional Service Award during the ceremony.
"I congratulate Roberta Sweeney for making outstanding contributions to Western. Roberta exemplifies the values outlined in our People Goal by serving her customers and peers with great dedication. Her multiple accomplishments remind us of the wide reach our organization has in our industry, our service territory and our nation," Hacskaylo said.
As CRSP MC's administrative assistant, Sweeney receives the award for consistently and promptly meeting customer needs and maintaining a high level of quality, as well as for being committed to providing assistance to others, maintaining a reputation for excellence and supporting organizational goals.
She is well organized, able to keep track of the work that needs her attention and accomplishes her commitment on time or ahead of schedule. Her dependability and reliability are noticed and appreciated by the CRSP MC regional manager and many others in the office and throughout Western.
Since joining Western in 1982, Sweeney has served under six area or CRSP MC managers, as well as several deputy and acting managers, providing consistency and stability to Western's customers.
In addition to working with customers, Sweeney dedicates a lot of time to groups within Western, including the Senior Administrative Assistants Team and the Equal Employment Opportunity committee. She has played a key role in developing and improving correspondence procedures, Federal Register processes, power marketing plans and other products.
Sweeney does have a flurry of activities, including her duties as Toastmasters International's Area Governor, overseeing six clubs. She also spends much of her time at Granger Community Christian Church, with the Crimson Club and attending the University of Utah football and basketball games. Sweeney participates in sports like golfing and dancing.
