CM RUSSELL TEAM WINS 2005 BIG SKY REGIONAL SCIENCE BOWL

BILLINGS, Mont.—CM Russell High School of Great Falls Montana took top honors in the 2005 Big Sky Regional Science Bowl held in Billings, Jan. 29, 2005. The final round of competition was between CM Russell High School and Billings Skyview High School. Havre High School fielded the third-place team.

This year’s event was the 13 th Annual Big Sky Science Bowl. The regional event determines which team advances to compete in the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., April 28 to May 2.

The first-place team from CM Russell High School in Great Falls included Andrew Jones, Michael Jordan, Justin Hausauer, Rachelle Baker and Brodie Wages. Karen Spencer served as coach.

The second place team from Skyview High School in Billings featured Aaron Anderson, Pat McInerny, Ryan Geiger, Andrew Letson and Kevin Laborda. Rich McFate was their coach.

The third place team from Havre High School in Havre was made up of Michael Welch,

Jason Verploegen, Kim Jestrab, Eric Moog and Joanna Ulgenes. Coach Mary Ann Moog led the team.

Western Area Power Administration, along with other industry and business sponsors, support this academic program to encourage high school students and their teachers, to achieve educational excellence in the sciences.
