WESTERN SEEKS RENEWABLE POWER FOR N.M. DELIVERIES

LAKEWOOD, Colo.—Western Area Power Administration is soliciting proposals for non-hydro renewable electric power to serve Federal installations in New Mexico.

This request for proposals calls for purchasing 66 GWh of renewable energy annually for five to 10 years. Proposals should be for firm schedulable renewable energy that include renewable energy certificates. These certificates affirm the intangible environmental benefits associated with generating one megawatthour of electric energy by a renewable resource.

Western’s Colorado River Storage Project Management Center seeks proposals to supply renewable energy generated from solar, geothermal, biomass or wind technologies to Sandia National Laboratories and Kirtland Air Force Base near Albuquerque and Los Alamos National Laboratory, near Los Alamos, N.M. Alternative delivery points include the Four Corners area, or Public Service Company of New Mexico’s transmission network.
