Western recognizes Loveland resident for exceptional service

LOVELAND, Colo.--Loveland resident Peggy Plate received Western Area Power Administration's highest honor today at a ceremony at Western's Rocky Mountain Regional Office. Western Administrator Mike Hacskaylo presented the Exceptional Service Award to Plate, an Energy Services specialist.

"I congratulate Peggy Plate for making outstanding daily contributions to Western," said Hacskaylo. She exemplifies the values we have outlined in our People Goal in Western's Strategic Plan, including a commitment to safety, technical improvement, diversity and customer focus. Her skills, initiative and commitment help to make Western a premier power marketing and transmission organization.

Peggy Plate is recognized for single-handedly managing the Rocky Mountain Region's highly visible and successful Energy Services program for the last 18 years.

A native of the Chicago area, Peggy is a graduate of the University of Dubuque. She began her Federal career in 1979 with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and came to Western in 1981 as an office services assistant.
The Exceptional Service Award is the highest departmental honor that can be granted by Western's Administrator. Criteria to earn this recognition include:

Western Area Power Administration markets and transmits reliable, cost-based hydroelectric power and related services. Western's service area covers 1.3 million square miles in 15 western and central states.
