HURON, S.D.--During this harvest season, Western Area Power Administration reminds everyone of the dangers of high-voltage transmission lines.

Heavy equipment, buildings, even trees, close to power lines, can lead to disasters. Keep your distance. Remember, objects don't have to touch the lines or towers. Electricity can arc through air in close quarters.

Western has high-voltage lines running through the Huron area. When planning work in or near line rights-of-way call Western first at 605-353-9420.

Play it safe don't be dead wrong.
