Western helping form green partnerships

Quick picks

Western joined the National Renewable Energy Laboratory Oct. 30, 2007, to celebrate the groundbreaking of its new green Research Support Facility. Part of the facility includes a five-acre span of solar panels, called the Mesa Top PV Project.

Under a 20-year service agreement with Western, SunEdision will develop the solar energy system and then sell the electricity to Xcel Energy and to DOE on behalf of NREL. The project should be completed in May 2008 and will produce about 750kW of clean, renewable electric power.
