The Green Power Leadership Awards recognize individuals, companies and organizations for efforts advancing the development of renewable electricity sources through green power markets. The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy sponsor the awards, which were presented at the 10th National Green Power Marketing Conference in Austin last October.

Awards are given annually in four categories. Green Power Partner of the Year recognizes partners for purchase, overall strategy and impact on the green power market. The On-site Generation award is for use of on-site renewable energy applications, including solar PV, wind energy projects and other technologies. Green Power Purchase recognizes purchases from a utility green-pricing program, a competitive green marketer or a renewable energy certificate supplier. The Green Power Leadership club honors Green Power Partners for green power purchases that significantly exceed minimum Green Power Partnership purchase requirements.
