Western unveils new Web site

As of Oct. 2, Western's Web site is sporting a new look, organization, navigation, and content. Western's new Web site lets you zip to the information you need. On the home page, mousing over the links on the left will bring up a list of topics. Just click on the one you want, and you're there! The buttons are:

  • Regions: Customers deal with our regional offices frequently, so we put these links right up front. Visitors can move immediately to the Web sites of our four regional offices and the Colorado River Storage Project Management Center.
  • Events Calendar: A listing of upcoming workshops, training, and other events at Western.
  • Power marketing: Information on how we market power, including marketing plans, contracts, and other topics.
  • Power operations: Links to the Open Access-Same Time Information System (OASIS) sites within Western's service territory.
  • Interconnecting: Information on how to request an interconnection with Western's transmission system.
  • Offices/ Functions: Contains links to the CSO and to specific departments within Western, including Corporate Communications, Economic Impact and Diversity (EEO), Engineering, and Environment.
  • General info: Everything you've ever wanted to know about Western. This section contains fact sheets, maps, key contacts across Western, system data, financial information, and more.
  • Industry links: Connect to sites at the U.S. Department of Energy, along with important industry sites such as the North American Electric Reliability Council. Along the bottom are links for specific audiences to quickly get to specific information. This includes:
  • Doing Business: Everything vendors need to know to do business with Western.
  • Jobs: Job hunters can find information on working for Western, vacancy announcements, and other Federal job sites.
  • Training: Western's Electric Power Training Center offers a full menu of utility industry training options.
  • FOIA: Apply online for documents under the Freedom of Information Act.
  • Media Center: One-stop shopping for reporters interested in general information about Western, news releases, and other resources.
  • Energy Services: A link to our own electronic warehouse of energy information.
  • Contact us: Let us know what you think of the site. Ask questions. Find out who you should contact about what.
