ASES plans conference, home tours

The American Solar Energy Society will once again promote solar technology through this year's annual conference and a National Tour of Solar Homes.

The nation's oldest and largest organization dedicated to the research, development, and commercialization of renewable energy resources, ASES represents more than 5,000 members with chapters in 31 states.

Solar 2000 logoThis year's conference, SOLAR 2000, will be held in Madison, Wisc., June 18 to 21. It will bring together about 1,000 industry and government leaders, including utility representatives, scientists, architects, builders, engineers, managers, educators, and other solar professionals and advocates. SOLAR 2000 will showcase the state-of-the-art in solar technologies and include more than 200 presentations of papers, forums, and workshops covering a wide range of technical topics and policy issues.

ASES organizes the National Tour of Solar Homes in partnership with about 90 community organizations. The event has included tours in more than 100 communities in at least 43 states and attracts 15,000 visitors to more than 850 solar homes and other buildings nationwide each year. This year's tour will be held throughout the country on October 14, 2000.
