June 2008 Update

The Upper Great Plains Region (UGPR) Power Marketing Staff is continuing its MISO/MAPP Seams Evaluation. A meeting to update customers will be planned after the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) takes action on MISO's Module F filing. It is anticipated that FERC will issue its ruling in mid-June 2008.


 

April 18 , 2008 Update

Western's Upper Great Plains Region (UGPR) hosted a customer meeting on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the Holiday Inn – City Centre in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  A copy of the presentation is now posted on this webpage.  


 

April 4 , 2008 Update

Western's Upper Great Plains Region (UGPR) mailed a letter to customers dated April 2, 2008 (a copy of the letter is posted below).  UGPR is hosting a customer meeting on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. CDT at:

March 25, 2008 Update

Western's Upper Great Plains Region (UGPR) Power Marketing staff is in the process of evaluating the possible impacts of MISO’s proposed Module F.  UGPR plans to provide information on this process in a letter mailed to its customers on or about Tuesday, April 1, 2008.  At the same time, the letter will be posted on this webpage.  UGPR has scheduled an open meeting with interested parties on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at 9 a.m.  The meeting will be at the Holiday Inn, 100 W. Eighth Street, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.


March 13, 2008 Update

On March 4, 2008, the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator (MISO) filed documents with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), including a Western Markets Proposal contained in a new Module F of MISO’s Open Access Transmission and Energy Markets Tariff. Module F has three major parts that correspond to the three types of coordination services proposed in the filing: Part I - Reliability Coordination Service; Part II - Interconnected Operations and Congestion Management Service; and Part III - Market Coordination Service. Western's Upper Great Plains Region (UGPR) Power Marketing staff is evaluating MISO’s Western Markets Proposal and its possible impacts to UGPR customers. UGPR plans to update customers on its decision process, including sending summary information and holding an information meeting. A meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.


January 2008 Update

MISO has indicated that it will be filing proposed schedules with FERC on or about March 3, 2008.  Once MISO files the proposed schedules with FERC, the Upper Great Plains Region (UGPR) Power Marketing staff may proceed to evaluate the proposals.  UGPR’s evaluation process will include posting information regarding the MISO/MAPP seams options on this website and mailing information to customers.  Comments will be accepted from the public during UGPR’s evaluation process.

The MISO/MAPP Seams Evaluation process may be further extended if MISO’s filing of the proposed schedules with FERC is delayed or the proposed schedules are changed significantly by MISO before filing. Please continue to check this site for further updates.


December 2007 Update

The Upper Great Plains Region (UGPR) power marketing staff is awaiting the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator’s (MISO) filing of proposed schedules with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) before UGPR continues its evaluation of the MISO/MAPP seams options.  It is anticipated that MISO will be filing the proposed schedules with FERC in January 2008, a delay of an additional 30 days.

UGPR will resume its evaluation of the MISO/MAPP seams options as soon as MISO files its proposed schedules with FERC.  The UGPR process will include posting information regarding the MISO/MAPP seams options on this website and mailing information to customers.  Comments will be accepted during UGPR’s evaluation process.


November 2007 Update

The MISO/MAPP Seams Evaluation process has been delayed for approximately 30 days to correlate with the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator’s (MISO) updated timeline for its filing of proposed schedules with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). It is anticipated that MISO will be filing proposed schedules with FERC in December 2007.
